Professional Sectors of Graduates of the Department of Civil Engineering and Regional Design

Graduates of the Department of Civil Engineering and Regional Design and its predecessor the Architectural Engineering Course are primarily active in occupations in the following fields. After completing their undergraduate studies, students may also choose to enter a graduate program for a master's degree in a more advanced or broadly specialized field of application.
Graduates of the Department of Civil Engineering and Regional Design who go on to the master’s program at Utsunomiya University primarily major in the Division of Social Design's civil engineering program.

Qualifications that can be attained after graduating from the Department of Civil Engineering and Regional Design

The department offers programs to obtain the following qualifications.

Assistant Surveyor (national qualification)
Students who graduate having earned all of the required credits in surveying can apply for and receive a qualification as an assistant surveyor.

Surveyor (national qualification)
Students who graduate having earned all of the required credits in surveying can apply for and receive a qualification as a surveyor if they have at least one year of practical experience in surveying.

Assistant Professional Engineer (national qualification)
Students who have studied the basic and specialized knowledge of science and technology in this department and passed the first Professional Engineer examination can obtain the qualification of Assistant Professional Engineer.

Professional Engineer (national qualification)
Those who have attained the qualification as Assistant Professional Engineer, gained the prescribed amount of experience, and passed the second Professional Engineer examination can obtain the qualification as Professional Engineer by registering themselves.

1st and 2nd class Civil Engineering Works Execution Managing Engineer (national qualification)*
Graduates who have attained the prescribed amount of practical experience can qualify to sit for the qualification examination.

Authorized Concrete Engineer, Authorized Chief Concrete Engineer, Authorized Concrete Diagnosis & Maintenance Engineer (private qualification)*
Students who have graduated, having completed the courses related to concrete technology, can qualify to sit for the qualification examination after they have gained the prescribed amount of practical experience.

Registered Civil engineering Consulting Manager (RCCM) (private qualification)*
Graduates who have gained the prescribed amount of practical experience can qualify to sit for the qualification examination.

*Graduates of this department may shorten the prescribed number of years of work experience required after graduation because they will be recognized as already possessing some of the expertise required for the qualification.
