History

1977
Requested budget for the Department of Architectural Engineering from the Ministry of Education. Started recruiting students as the Department of Mechanical Engineering (B).
1978
Founded the Department of Architectural Engineering.
1979
Completed construction of the building for the Department of Architectural Engineering and the laboratory building.
1982
Graduate School of Engineering, Department of Architectural Engineering established.
1988
The Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Architectural Engineering are combined to form the Department of Construction. Architectural courses follow a large lecture system, and students follow the Architectural Studies Course.
1992
Due to the reorganization of the master's program, the name of the "Division of Architectural Engineering" is changed to the "Division of Construction Science." Doctoral program established.
1997
"Division of Energy and Environmental Engineering" established, and some faculty members are transferred to other departments.
2003
"Division of Information Systems Science" established, and some faculty members are transferred to other departments.
2007
Accredited as a JABEE Engineering Education Program.
2008
Due to the reorganization of the doctoral program, the “Division of Construction Science” is renamed the “Division of Global Environmental Design (Architectural and Environmental Design Course),” and the “Division of Energy and Environmental Engineering” and “Division of Information Systems Science” are combined into the “Department of Advanced Interdisciplinary Sciences.” The name of the doctoral program is changed to the “Department of Innovation Systems Engineering.”
2011
Application for continuation of JABEE Engineering Education Program canceled.
2013
Seismic retrofitting of university building.
2016
School of Regional Design established. Transferred to the Department of Architecture and Urban Design.
